After 55 years of marriage, 99-year-old Luther Younger is still deeply devoted to his wife, Waverlee, whom he calls his sweetest cup of tea.

Luther walks six miles and back every day in the heat, rain and snow to visit Waverlee in the hospital. 

Waverlee was diagnosed with a brain tumor nine years ago. With Waverlee in the hospital with pneumonia, Luther has made it a part of his daily routine to walk to her.

A recent report points out that by 2050, the population of India's 80-plus would have grown 700% “with a predominance of widowed and highly dependent very old women. Aged widows with meager or no income, are especially vulnerable in the absence of a proper social security network. What’s more worrying is the fact that 10 % of them are living alone, and the number has been rising over the past few decades.
